What is a Nonce in Blockchain?

A nonce is a number that can be used only once. To create a valid block, Miners compete to complete the Proof of Work (PoW) at the earliest. The Nonce is a random whole number, which is a 32-bit (4 bytes) field, which is adjusted by the miners so that it becomes a valid number to be used for hashing the value of the block.

This specific nonce that satisfies the mining requirement of the next block is called the “Golden Nonce”.
